Much of my time away from work is spent with music, as it is my main creative outlet. I play guitar for a local DC band, Chaotika, and compose and create music on my own as well. Music from both the band Chaotika and my solo work are on this site.

KVR-VST is a site dedicated to supporting open technology standards for music software. It has an active community of both musicians and developers.

Each month the KVR-VST site runs a contest for forum members. The theme of the contest is different each month, with the theme being chosen by the winner of the previous month's contest. Entries are usually limited to 2 minutes in length.

  • Ambient Score February 2005 entry (New)
The theme was to liberate an unheard voice. I interpreted this as to do something in a different style than normal, hence an ambient piece.
  • Come Winter (Dec 04/Jan 05) entry
The theme was to write a song that showed why you create music. Entries were allowed to be 4 minutes long due to the 2 month contest time period.
  • Cars November 2004 entry
The theme of this contest was a tribute to the late John Peel. Entries were required to be a cover of any song done by any band that was ever recorded in a Peel session by John Peel.
  • Rain Dance October 2004 entry
This month's theme was to create a song using recordings from non-musical sources.
  • Melancholy Train September 2004 Entry
For this contest we were limited to using one instrument for all sounds in the song. Everything, including percussion was done on guitar.
